We are delighted to confirm that the workshop’s keynote speaker will be Dr Azeezat Johnson of Queen Mary University of London. Dr Johnson’s research interests include Black feminist methodological approaches, Black Muslim women, and the racial, gendered and ethnic politics of Islamophobia. She recently co-edited and contributed to the hugely important volume The Fire Now: Anti-Racist Scholarship in Times of Explicit Racial Violence (Zed Books, 2018), and has previously published research on the clothing practices of Black Muslim women in Britain.
